Hi,

Living in Japan, I could attend TRONSHOW2010 held in Tokyo Midtown (a name of
a large commercial complex) from Dec 9th to Dec 11th. (This past week.)

I saw many interesting demos and met with interesting people.
In the next several postings, I will summarize what I saw for those who could not attend.

(I am not telling you I saw ALL the exhibition floor.)

The website the reader is advised to check is TRONSHOW web page.

http://www.tronshow.org/

There is a link for English web articles.

What I noticed this year was that the
panels used for main show organizers' corner

 - T-Engine Showcase, and
 - uID Showcase

had much fewer characters than the previous years and
are focused on simple visuals instead of trying to put a mouthful
into visitors.

T-Engine Showcase  listed open source packages that can work with T-Engine.

See, for example,
http://www.tronshow.org/guidebook/2010/404/pc/index.html

This web page can be found by following the link:

on the first English web page.

http://www.tronshow.org/index-e.html

follow the link in the Dec 14 entry of the latest news.

http://www.tronshow.org/guidebook/2010/

From there, choose "English" (or Japanese if you read Japanese) just below
the "TRON2010" header below the graphical logo.

You get a list of contents webpage.
http://www.tronshow.org/guidebook/2010/contents-e.html

One of the link is the above-mentioned T-Engine Showcase link.

OK, there seem to be many pages to read.

This is a start of the message.

I may be writing later today.

If you have specific questions about specific display/booth, I or others who have visited
the show floor may answer them.

Hi Zephyrus-tk,

Welcome to the forum!  Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the TRONSHOW.  I hope you don't mind but I have linked to this post from the TE@Onghu website so that more people can see it.

Also, I don't know if you have seen it, but I made video about the MP T-Kernel demo in the showcase, and uploaded it to YouTube.  It can be seen on the TE@Onghu article at: http://t-engine.onghu.com/en/articles/tronshow2010_t-engine_showcase/

We look forward to hearing more about the TRONSHOW from you.

Best Regards,
Mohit.

No I have not really!
Thx. I will take a good look at these later.

Hope I can offer some interesting tidbits later.

If you have specific questions about specific display/booth, I or others who have visited
the show floor may answer them.

I sort of pick up random subject now from the web information.

The contents of the web information of the show lists the following.
- Welcome to TRONSHOW2010
- TRON Project Symposium Outline
Technologies to Support TRON
- 2009 Topics
- Overseas Activities in 2009
- T-Engine Project 2009
- Ubiquitous ID Technologies Project 2009
- T-Engine Showcase
- Ubiquitous Computing Showcase

Exhibitors

Government Pavilion

Pacific Rim Pavilion

Let me take a look at 2009 Topics

http://www.tronshow.org/guidebook/2010/tron/e/t-01.html

MP T-Kernel is very impressive. The video sequences
Mohits posted to youtube is very interesting.
In one of the video of SH CPU demo, the video missed showing the power-saving feature
very much, but from what I saw, the demo is supposed to show that the
power consumption is reduced very much when one or two of the cores become idle and
some form of power saving feature kicks in.

But what surprised me is that a *HOME* color inkjet printer uses MP T-Kernel!
See Increased Adoption of T-Kernel" section of the above page.
The printer sold in Japan was on display near the entrance of the exhibition floor.

(Yes, it has WiFi connection, it must have a very CPU intensive graphics engine for
photo-quality printing, and yet, finding a mulitprocessor OS on a printer was a surprise. The spec and the source code are available from TEF website.)

For now, I will keep myself focused on the T-Engine side and saving ucode or uID architecture topics for later discussion. But it is interesting to note that
a very small scale personal experiment can be done using "ucoder" website if your
mobile phone can read so called QRcode (a sort of 2-D matrix barcode).
This is described in the latter section of the above web page.

Again, I hope I can add a few photos of my own later.
